FAQ

What is Ashwagandha used for?

Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that helps the body cope with stress and improve energy levels. It is used primarily for anxiety/stress, athletic performance, reducing inflammation and boosting testosterone. However, evidence for these uses seem conflicted.

How much Ashwagandha should I take?

Generally doses range from 300mg to 600mg of Ashwagandha extract in divided doses. Take for at least 1 month to notice effects. For enhancing athletic performance, doses up to 1200mg daily have been used.

When should I take ashwagandha?

If taken once daily, take in the morning as it may promote energy production. If taken twice daily, space apart evenly or take when required.

What are the side effects and precautions of ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha may cause diarrhoea, drowsiness and stomach upset, but is very well tolerated. People with thyroid, diabetes, hypertension or autoimmune disease including organ transplant may need to avoid Ashwagandha or at least speak with their doctor before taking it.
