Solgar Omega 3-6-9 provides a blend of three premium oils – Fish, Flax and Borage. Omega 3-6-9, contributes essential fatty acids necessary for optimal health and well-being.* Omega 3-6-9 also contains EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids that support the health and function of a variety of organs and systems including those of the heart, joints and skin.* Molecular distillation is employed to remove mercury.

Solgar Omega 3-6-9 consists of 1.3g of Fish Oil, Flaxseed Oil and Borage Oil each per serving, totalling 3.9g of premium oil for your health. This combination provides a unique ratio of Omega 3s, 6s and 9s that may promote general well-being by reducing inflammation.

How much Omega 3-6-9 should I take?

There's no official guide for how much Omega 3-6-9 you should take as each brand will vary a lot. However, you do want to calculate your daily intake of Omega 3s, 6s and 9s separately from the foods you eat to determine how much you need.
The daily intake for Omega 3s has not been set but should be at least 300mg per day; Omega 6s should be 12-17g; Omega 9s don't have a recommended daily intake as they're non-essential. The main thing would be to not overdose yourself with Omega 6s, especially from food sources that are highly processed, and try to maintain an Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratio of 1:2 to 1:5.

What are the side effects and precautions of Omega 3-6-9?

Omega 3-6-9 is very well tolerated, however, you may experience stomach upset, which in this case, take with food. People who have allergies to fish, Flaxseed or Borage should not use this product, along with vegetarians and vegans. Patients who are taking blood thinners or have clotting issues may want to consult their doctors first before using this product as there is a small theoretical risk of blood thinning.

Should I take Omega 3 or Omega 3-6-9?

If your diet consists of a lot of nuts, vegetable oil or processed foods that uses a lot of vegetable oil, you may want to choose Omega 3s only as these foods already contain high amounts of Omega 6.
