What are the benefits of L-Theanine?

L-theanine acts on the brain and may promote relaxation, improved sleep and cognitive performance.

How much L-theanine should I take?

Typical dose range is from 200mg to 400mg daily in divided doses. Depending on how much you need you may require a larger dose or more frequent dosing schedule (e.g. three or four times a day).

When should I take L-Theanine?

If you're looking for a good night's sleep then definitely take it before you go to bed. However if you need it for anxiety during the day, feel free to take it as needed. You can also take it right before a stressful event pre-emptively or if you have frequent symptoms you may want to take it everyday regularly as prevention. However you will still need to address the root cause of the problem and if symptoms persist or worsen you should consult a physician.

What are the side effects and precautions of L-Theanine?

As with many things, it may cause headache, nausea and vomiting. It can also make you drowsy especially when combined with other compounds that promote sleep/relaxation, so be sure to look out for drowsiness during the day. However it is generally very well tolerated so it should not be a problem.
