Healthy Origins CoQ10 Description

Healthy Origins CoQ10 (Ubiquinone) is a naturally occurring substance that facilitates the production of cellular energy. In our body, there are small “engines” called mitochondria. Ninety-five percent of the total energy created within the body comes from these mitochondria, and none of it can take place without CoQ10. Our 100% natural (trans-isomer) CoEnzyme Q10 is produced exclusively through a yeast fermentation process and is cGMP, the highest quality available.

Healthy Origins® CoQ10 gels are encapsulated in the USA using only Kaneka Q10™ produced exclusively in Pasadena, TX, USA.

Kaneka Q10 is a registered trademark of Kaneka Corporation.

FAQ

What is CoQ10 used for?

CoQ10 or Ubiquinone, is an antioxidant and coenzyme that is involved in the production of cellular energy inside mitochondria. Due to the high concentration of mitochondria in the heart, CoQ10 is mainly used for heart conditions (which we highly recommend in the elderly). CoQ10 may also help with headaches, exercise performance and skin improvement.

How much CoQ10 should I take?

Typical doses range from 100mg to 600mg daily but 100mg to 300mg is the most common. Most people would start on 100mg daily but starting on 300mg is fine as CoQ10 is very well tolerated.

When should I take CoQ10?

CoQ10 is a fat soluble compound, so taking it with food is best. However it is usually formulated with a type of oil to improve solubility and absorption so technically it doesn't matter much. Most people would take it in the morning as it gives them a boost of energy.

What are the side effects and precautions of CoQ10?

CoQ10 is very well tolerated but heart burn may occur in some individuals especially when taken on an empty stomach. People with diabetes, taking blood pressure medications or blood thinners may want to speak with their doctors before taking CoQ10 and monitor for any side effects if they decide to take it.

What's the difference between CoQ10 (Ubiquinone) and Ubiquinol?

CoQ10 is the oxidized version of Ubiquinol. The body absorbs and utilizes Ubiquinol a lot better than CoQ10 because CoQ10 has to be first converted to Ubiquinol before it can be used. However it is more expensive.

What's so special about Kaneka?

Kaneka Q10 is the world's purest and most researched CoQ10 to date. It is the only yeast-fermented CoQ10 and thus does not contain the impurities that synthetically processed CoQ10 does. It is also GMO-free, allergen-free and Kosher certified.
